There’s a shocking discovery for scientists. On Tuesday there’s a 3-inch-long parasitic worm was found in a woman’s brain. The 64-year-old woman who lived in Canberra reported to doctors about her abdominal pain, forgetfulness, and depression. She had the surgery in the Australian capital.
Doctors said The reason behind the worm, was she may have been exposed to the wild grass from there the worm entered her brain.
Dr. Sanjaya Senanayake one of her study authors, said “When you operate on someone’s brain and you take a biopsy of something, you never expect to encounter something living
Doctors were shocked because they were familiar with parasites in humans, a worm so large had never before been seen in a human. The name of the parasite is Ophidascaris Robertsi.
Now the woman is normal after being discharged from the hospital and monitored by doctors.
Senanayake also added,
Because this was an unusual case at so many levels, we’re keeping a close eye on her and keeping in touch
