White blood cell disorders like lymphoma, leukemia, and Myelodysplastic syndrome(MDS) happen because of many reasons. All kinds of blood cancer occur because of a mutation in the blood cell. There are no known reasons that what causes those mutations.

Blood cell disorders happen because problems of function in platelets are caused by multiple reasons. Some disorders happen because of genetic reasons, some are caused by lifestyle habits and some occur because of medical conditions.

Many blood cell disorders are not life-threatening or extremely harmful to the human body.
