Lots of kids in India suffer from childhood obesity. From improper sleep patterns to unmaintained food habits, they cause obesity in kids. The central government even created a committee to set some rules to control the consumption of junk food in kids and promote a healthy food culture.
The Director of the Department of Neonatology and Paediatrics, Rainbow Children’s Hospital, Bannerghatta, Bangalore, Dr. Prakash Vemgal shared some tips. Those are:
- A balanced meal is the key to a healthy diet that helps kids get essential nutrients and restricts them from consuming junk food.
- Parents should help their kids to develop mindful eating habits. They should maintain portion sizes for each food.
- Parents should restrict the sugar and processed food consumption of the kids.
- Physical exercise should become a part of a kid’s life.
